While living on the road in unfamiliar states and countries, I began making handpoked tattoos in 2016. This form of tattooing allowed me to travel and barter while my time living on the road, which I am forever grateful for. All of the tattoos I made up until the beginning of 2018 were handpoked, until I began working with machines.
Beyond being my artistic outlet, tattooing is a means of communication for me to meet new people and help them illustrate their stories onto skin. I prefer to handpoke ornament and tattoo more illustrative designs with machine. I draw a lot of inspiration for my work from nature, vintage botany illustrations, and mysticism. I am fascinated by turning a story into something readable upon skin, whether that be through simple ornament or a dynamic illustration.
